21st Century Oncology of Michigan, a division of Michigan Healthcare Professionals, is pleased to announce the opening of a new, comprehensive cancer treatment center in the UnaSource Health Comprehensive Medical Campus.

Using an integrated approach, the center, located in Suite B 111, provides top-quality care, offering patients the latest cancer treatment advances and a unified team of medical professionals–working together across multiple specialties to help patients.

“Opening a comprehensive oncology center in Troy provides enhanced convenience for nearby patients, providing excellent cancer care in a convenient, outpatient setting,” says Dr. Larry Kestin, Medical Director for 21st Century Oncology in Michigan. “Our team of expert physicians cares for patients in Troy and Southeastern Michigan with the same dedication they’ve exhibited throughout our existing facilities region.”

The new cancer center is part of the largest area network of physicians, a select 300-doctor group with world-renowned specialists in breast, lung, prostate, gynecologic and urologic cancers. The team of 21st Century Oncology physicians practicing there are considered to be national leaders in their respective fields, including John Vito Antonucci, M.D., Ahmed E. Ezz, M.D., Jeffrey D. Forman, M.D., Michael I. Ghilezan, M.D., Ph.D., Larry L. Kestin, M.D., Alvaro A. Martinez, M.D., Kay T. Miller, M.D., Madhu C. Patel, M.D., and Frank A. Vicini, M.D.

“By opening our facility in the UnaSource building where many medical specialties are represented, including medical and surgical oncology, urology and primary care, we are able to provide one of the most inclusive cancer treatment centers in Michigan,” says Dr. Jeffrey Forman, 21st Century Oncology of Michigan Board Certified Radiation Oncologist.

The new facility includes a comprehensive breast care program, with accelerated partial breast irradiation, as well as multidisciplinary clinics for breast, lung, genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers, designed to assist patients in determining the best treatment options for their specific needs.

“We believe that by integrating multiple aspects of cancer care, such as advanced imaging capabilities, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, all in one conveniently-located building, patients benefit immensely,” explains Dr. Michael Ghilezan, 21st Century Oncology of Michigan Board Certified Radiation Oncologist. “With our talented team under one roof, care choices are made based on shared decision making with the patient; considering evidence, physician experience, and patient lifestyle factors.”
